I continue to find myself immensely curious about this place. Just the other day, I managed to gather quite the curious collection of jewelry because of our surprising royalty. On top of that, I saw boys who should be girls and girls who should be boys, all believing that they were dragons or royalty

It's difficult to deny there's a god who oversees the afterlife when you're standing opposite his son and explaining the reasons he shouldn't put you in jail.

The after life is seen as a jail, or were you in a particularly difficult situation?

The afterlife is a bureaucracy that decided to extend its jurisdiction to include certain members of the living. The average soul has little to do with Reikai until death.

A bureaucracy.

Gods or no Gods, that's quite the similar situation.

To the City, with its offices? I'm afraid there are dissimilarities than parallels. Reikai has a clearly discernible purpose behind all of its actions, for one thing. It's run by a toddler barely out of diapers, for another.

I was thinking more along the lines of Hell.

I haven't died properly yet, but I've seen the gates leading into a few them, and I've read some of the records.
