I continue to find myself immensely curious about this place. Just the other day, I managed to gather quite the curious collection of jewelry because of our surprising royalty. It's difficult to deny there's a god who oversees the afterlife when you're standing opposite his son and explaining the reasons he shouldn't put you in jail.

The afterlife is a bureaucracy that decided to extend its jurisdiction to include certain members of the living. The average soul has little to do with Reikai until death.

To the City, with its offices? I'm afraid there are dissimilarities than parallels. Reikai has a clearly discernible purpose behind all of its actions, for one thing. It's run by a toddler barely out of diapers, for another.
