Dragon Con 2006.... damn...
Overall, I have to say that this was one of my more fun DragonCons... I didn't get drunk (and therefore avoided being hungover), but somehow managed to have a pretty damn fun time the entire con...
Things I learned:
1. Don't get mad a people who snore - it doesn't make them snore less, you find it harder to get to sleep when you're upset, and you just have to awkwardly apologize the next day
2. Don't make lunch dates for 11:00am... you just end up losing sleep to make it on time, and it's entirely too early for serious party-goers... set your food-clock ahead a couple hours, and give people a chance to sleep it off! (Don't worry sweetie, I still love you! hee hee)
3. When your stomache is upset, you should't drink caffiene first thing in the morning - put something solid in first, then drop the caffiene..
4. Some things are just better left unsaid... which is exceedingly difficult for me, as I am, generally speaking, an asshole that speaks his mind without forethought or censorship.
5. I really need a better camera. Either that, or I need to learn to take better pics... I dunno... but I'd really like a new camera either way... Stupid 2.1M cameras... grrr!
6. If you stand in one place long enough, the entire con might not pass you by, but a statistically significant percentage will...
7. That people who ride up/down escalators, get to the top/bottom, step off and STOP are ASSHOLES!!!! Don't these douchebags realize that the people behind them don't have the option of stopping? Twats!
8. That sometimes it helps to know the right people at a party.
9. That the people you share a room with have an alarming tendency to be awake or in the room when you don't want them to be... a good con could've been a truly epic one had this not been true... it's partly my own damn fault, but grrr!!
10. Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, or how drunk you aren't, pictures just turn out blurry...
11. Some years, no matter how big the con, you always run across the actual people you want to see!
Well, I learned a whole lot more than that, but those'll do for now... right now, back to getting caught up on my sleep, my e-mail, and my reading... and back to work tomorrow... bleh..
