Insurance...

Does anyone actually like Actuaries? I mean, other than insurance companies?

So I get a piece of mail from Jim Ellis Hyundai yesterday basically informing me that I couldn't get my tag until my insurance info is updated in the states database... grr... so, I call up lovely State Farm and ask how much it will be to transfer the insurance from my 94 Sonoma to my 05 Elantra... keeping all the variables the same, my rate will jump from $84 a month to $131 a month... WTF!!! So, I change my deductables about a bit and the new number is $113 and some change... a month... for a 36yr old male who has never been in an accident, never received a moving violation, never filed a single claim on insurance - EVER!!!

Then I say, 'Hey, I'm gonna be moving in a couple months, how much will insurance be when I move?'... she asks for the zip code, which I provide, and she tells me, 'If you keep your deductables they way they are now ($0/$0 in case you wondered), your rate will be $100 a month... if you change them to what we discussed ($500/$500), it'll be $87 a month'

Holy stinking Christ! I move 25 miles - still staying in the Metro Atlanta area mind you - and my rates drop THAT MUCH!!!

Stupid actuarial tables... stupid actuaries... I would get more satisfaction out of beating the person that caused my vehicle damage to death more than I would getting money from an insurer... best of both worlds would be getting both... the big bonus would be getting to slap around an Actuary - 1minute for every year I never filed a claim... that'd give me almost 20 minutes right now!! Hee hee!

Have I mentioned that I'm still pretty damn irked that my trucks transmission died?

broke, insurance sucks, pissed, i hate the truck
