Wow. December was the last time I posted in this blog.... Oh well.
Here is an update on my life:
I have decided to become an elementary school teacher.
I am majoring in Family and Child Sciences and plan to attend grad school to get a degree in Elem. Ed.
I am minoring in Psychology.
I am currently working at the Professional Learning Center in Jupiter. I work with mostly the aftercare program, where I supervise kindergarten through fifth grade kids. I sometimes float and work with pre-k and 3 year olds.
I also work two nights a week at Starbucks.
I have been accepted to do research in the fall with Dr. Bojczyk. It is a program called Project ILLIAD, where I will be working with second and third grade students. It is a 3-year study that is now in its 3rd year. The project started with kindergarten and first graders in low performing schools in Tallahassee. Basically, they have these students using computer programs daily to learn Tier 2 words (words most commonly used in freshman college textbooks). It has been hugely successful. It should be a fun project!
I made it onto the President's List for the Spring '08 semester.
Not sure if I will be an RA or not next year. Hopefully I will be, though.
No special person, but it's all good. Busy with other things in my life.
Lost some weight since spring semester ended. Been riding my bike and eating better. Hopefully I will go back to Tally 30 pounds lighter.
