Item Name & Description: Two bookmarks hand-stitched with blackwork, which here refers to a form of embroidery traditionally done in black thread. Already-stitched bookmarks are available for bid
here and
here. This auction is for bookmarks stitched in colors of the winners' choosing in one of ten available patterns (see behind the cut).
Starting Bid: $5. The top two bidders will both receive a bookmark.
Notes: delivery by Priority Mail within US; delivery method outside US to depend on cost. Completion may take up to a month, depending on whether I have the materials on hand and whether I have stitched the chosen pattern before (blackwork is ideally reversible, that is, identical front and back; this requires a fair bit of spatial planning that is emphatically not my strong point).

Bidding is now open and ends Sunday, March 6, 2011, at 11:59 p.m. EST (GMT -5).
There are ten patterns available. I have larger pictures of the first two because I've stitched them for auction already:

The other eight, I have only smaller and uglier pictures of, scanned from the magazine photo of the finished works and substantially lightened to show the stitching.

Again, the winners may pick one of these ten patterns to be stitched in the fabric and thread colors they wish.
