Went to see The Shins tonight with Maya, Jenny, David and Claire (not sure if i'm remembering her name right, but it started with a C). Anywho, good show. Opening band was The Brunettes who were real cool and fun to listen to. Talib Kwali was next and, while good, just didnt belong, i kinda felt sorry for him. Then The Shins came on. Talib Kweli might not've belonged, but it was a great idea to put him on the bill. I mean All types of people that don't listen to hip-hop, or indie went, and were exposed to some great music. Thae show was awesome.

I disagree. While he was real good, they should have had a seperate hip-hop/rap show. Indie kids don't really like rap and rap kids dont really like indie so i'm sure that mixing the two turned a lot of people off from going.

No offense, but just because you don't know many kids who enjoy both genres doesn't mean they don't exist. I mean I know tons of people that were excited to see such great indie acts performing together(Talib is considered indie). In fact I was just having a conversation about how Indie kids do appreciate hip-hop. As long as it's good hip-hop. Many of the people that were singing/dancing for Talib were also singing/dancing along to The Shins. I also have to say I went to his show at PC, and you would probably have seen most of the audience at a BRU show.
