Melodeoning about
I've been playing the melodeon for just over a year now. As someone who is pretty musical, and is so used to just picking up my instruments and playing whatever I like, I've really struggled learning a new instrument from scratch and at times its been so frustrating I've felt like packing it in, especially when my head knows what I want to play but my fingers just can't do it! Although now when I look back over the year and think how much progress I've made I'm really pleased with myself. In the last month in particular the left hand has suddenly become so much easier and I'm able to accompany myself on most of the tunes I can play. At a time when I feel there has been a total lack of progress in other areas of my life, it's nice to feel I've achieved something for a change.
