In an attempt to keep people up to date about my goings-on, I'm going to try and update my LJ once a week as a minimum. Haven't been terribly good about updating this sort of thing, but things change. Like my transitions from just player in RPGs to DMing and from pay-your-own-way college student majoring in social science to loan-accepting Evergreen State College student emphasizing Japanese (probably). Not that it's terribly exciting, or that anyone will leave any comments, but I'm doing it anyway!
So what's going on this week? Tomorrow (or Tuesday, it's unclear which) I have an appointment to take an employment test for the 2010 census. The practice test was easy enough, so it's going to be up to my qualifications - or lack thereof - as well as my interviewing talents to get a job with 'em. I'd say I was confident, but I've had several interviews in this prolonged job search, and am still unemployed. Stupid Fred Meyers saying I'm overqualified for a stocking clerk position...
I'm volunteering at F.G. City Library 3 days a week now, assisting with a short-term arts & crafts program for kids 4th grade and up on Mondays. Tomorrow is just board games and mazes, so I'm in familiar territory. Tuesdays I mend books, Fridays I'm technically a circulation assistant, but usually it's just whatever project needs doing at the time that I'm occupied with.
Elsewhere, I'm planning on going to Kumoricon this year, but that hinges on getting a job. No job = no money = no con. The way things are going right now, I'll probably have to wait for next year's Sakuracon to attend a convention again. I'll make due though, as I do with everything else that goes on.
