Ready to shake the scheme of things

Well, this is it, friends.

Not really.

I'm just going to France to-morrow. I can hear the collective sighs of relief even as I type.

Yes. Well. Anyway. I obtained 'English Settlement' by XTC thru Erin, because she's awesome. I don't really feel like writing a long-ass review for it, and I need to pack and no-body reads them anyway, so I'll just say that almost all the tracks on the album are excellent, and the worst that they get is 'great'. I really love the arid feel of it, and the percussion is amazing, albeit a small part irritating at times (the end of 'Melt the Guns'... *twitch*). Mr. Partridges' vocals prove, again to be some of the most unique and mystifying things in the music business.

Just... Just listen to it.

I also got 'Lets Dance', because I finally found a David Bowie record that I *didn't* have. Its so irrevocably eighties. Asian synth riffs, plummeting drums, this has got it all. But its still good, don't get me wrong. No matter how much Bowie sucks, he can't suck, if you get me. But I can understand why chain stores wouldn't carry this album, nonetheless. 'China Girl' is a sick guilty pleasure for me. Shut up, I like that song!

... And that was short.

Off I go to pack things. Fun.
