zion

After the grand canyon, I drove to zion. I passed through FLDS territory (a cult-like offshoot of the mormons, whose church leader has wives as young as, like, 9) and into Zion. It was a six hour drive and got there by the early afternoon. I set up camp and went up into the Hidden Canyon. It's a canyon that is hidden about 850ft up in the wall of the Zion Canyon. I spent about 2 hours in the canyon itself, seeing how deep it could go. The walls of the canyon got to be about 10 feet wide in some spots.

the next morning, i set out for Angel's Landing, which is a 1700ft climb to the top on narrow cliffs with dropoffs up to a quarter of a mile. Amazing view from the top.
I went into Springdale later that evening to try and tried to get on the internet, but of course, being in utah, half the internet was restricted... now i know what internet in china is like.

I started on my route home. i decided to do something different and take I 80 through colorado, nebrasky. and the central northern states. now i know im back in the are of reason... the reststops have free internet and im allowed to go on myspace and all the other filthy sites that i get my jollies frequenting.
