Tajikistan. Day 5. Rocks and stars.

Rocks
The scenery on the way is often composed of thousands of rocks lying on the ground between the mountains and “the road” (which is just parts where rocks have been cleared). It is quite amazing and sometimes looks like Mars (whatever we picture as Mars). It is also interesting that Tajiks and Pamiris do with rocks. We’ve seen houses, fences, benches, little towers on the sides of the road, and something that looks like solar clocks. There is also a lot written on rocks.
Stars
Staying in small, unpolluted villages at high altitude had a huge benefit, and that’s experiencing incredibly starry nights. I had never seen the actual Milky Way before. It looks like a patch of light clouds across the sky with a lot of bright stars shining through them, but it is actually a myriad of tiny stars that form the milkiness. Magnificent.
