My first TDY
Tomorrow morning I'll be leaving on a TDY (Temporary DutY assignment) to Florida! In July! Yayz!
It's a training exercise designed to teach me how to do my job when I get deployed. I expect to be swatting mosquitoes, eating MREs (Meal Ready to Eat, if "eat" is the correct word), dodging crocodiles, setting up satellite dishes, swatting mosquitoes, playing with the Nintendo DS I bought specifically to entertain myself during the long boring hours between classes that I'm told trainees endure, drinking swamp water, and probably swatting mosquitoes. (I live for the genocidal war against the mosquitoes. Their world will be purged by chemicals and lightning.)
Unfortunately, this means I'll probably be completely out of contact for the next two weeks. Woe. It should be educational, however, and I'm stacking the deck against boredom. I'll let you know how it went when I get back!
(Yes, sosiqui, this means you get a two-week reprieve on those anime recommendations you promised me. I expect stellar work upon my return. :P)
