PS3 wifi

I have my PC hooked up to my Linksys router via ethernet cord, and my fiancee has her Macbook on wifi, and the PS3 uses wifi. She can't use her Macbook online while the PS3 is on, it says another device is using the connection or something. What do I do? I've never heard of that. I can use my iPod Touch while she's using her Macbook so why can' ( Read more... )

make sure that both the ps3 and the macbook are set to use dhcp to get an ip address. i don't know how to do it on the ps3, but on the mac its system preferences -> network -> airport -> advanced -> tcp/ip -> configure ipv4: using DHCP -> ok -> apply.

if both are set to dhcp, then there's something funky going on with your router, and i'd reset it to factory default settings (by pusing in that reset button on the back of the router for 30 seconds).

The only thing I can think of is that both the mac and the ps3 are set up for a static address and they both have the same one.

I believe on the ps3, you just have to select "obtain ip address automatically" or some similar verbiage.
