Hi. I just got a new Dell Studio 1555 laptop. The day I got it, I turned on Windows Defender. The day after, I got a error message:

Windows Defender
Application Failed to Initialize: 0x800106Ba. Restart Windows... Or use the control panel.

I have tried rebooting Windows, but it doesn't work. I have no idea how to fix this in the Control Panel. Help?

Also: My Studio 1555 is equipped for a High-Speed Internet connection. I still use dial-up. I've been using an external modem for internet use, but the speed is atrocious. I try downloading stuff (simple images, webpages) and the speed fluctuates between 700bps and 1.80kbps. Is there anyway to speed this up?

Thank you for your time.
