Question/Problem: So. I use voice chat program called
Ventrilo. Now the thing with it is that when ever I hit the little button in to talk, and someone decides to say something. I'll end up looping them. I'll usually get told to move my mic away from the speakers, but I have a headset! I've used Vent and this headset on other computers and never had a problem. Since I got this new one I been having this problem. I think it's the way my computer's sound is set up? If that makes sense. The thing is I just not sure how I could set it up to stop that. I even tried it on MSN and it just started indefinitely loop the guy on the other end.
Operating System and VERSION: Windows XP
Your level of experience: Intermediate-ish
Duration of problem: a few months.
Any steps you've taken to troubleshoot? I was told to mess around with the settings on vent but that didn't make a driftnets. I went in to the Control Panel and poked at Sounds and Audio Devices but kind of left the settings at default due to I didn't know what I was doing and there really wasn't many options anyway.
