I realized we have not told most of our friends that we are expecting. I honestly know why and it is always hard to admit. I'm currently 12 weeks along, but I have been massively sick since week 3. Sadly, this pregnacy has been harder then the last. We were hoping that it would not be, but we did not get our wish.
For those that do not know, I was diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum my last pregnacy. It found me again for this one.
What Is Hyperemesis Gravidarum?
HG is a debilitating and potentially life-threatening pregnancy disease marked by rapid weight loss, malnutrition, and dehydration due to unrelenting nausea and/or vomiting with potential adverse consequences for the newborn. For more information,
http://www.helpher.org/ HG just made the national news in a story on youtube. I know the girl that was interviewed. I was interviewed earlier to be in the story for I'm also in my first trim. However, because of living in the middle of nowhere, they were not able to get a film crew out to us. I am on the same Zofran Pump that is pictured in the story, home health, and currently IV treatments.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=VJDJDHuX4Xo So far I have had to go to the OB more frequently, the hospital for emergency fluids, changing meds, allergic reactions to meds, and an ultrasound to see if the babe was OK (and also to make sure it was a singleton)
So that is our hidden news and the story so far. It looks to be a long journey again. I was sick all 40 weeks with Beet... and we are not showing anything that makes us feel there is an end in sight.
