The Sims: Based on a Commodore 64 game?

A clip! Ignore the idiot playing - the text box is how you talk to the LCP and request things, play games with it, e.t.c.
(WTF? Youtube embeds are shoved to the top...oooookay...)

Second clip: The Amiga got a version two years later, with what sounds like MIDI music.

Yep, Will Wright has admitted this. I played the game as a kid, and thanks to the magic of emulation, you can too!

"Little Computer People" came out in 1985 (year of the time travelling DeLorean!), and simulated a computer person and their dog, their looks and attitude random depending on which serial your disk used.

You could send them food, records, books, food for the dog, keep the water supply running, and if you were polite with "please", you could ask them to do many a thing! Watch TV, play on their computer, play games with you, dance, sleep, shower, have someone call them, and many other things. Hell, you could even pet an obedient LCP with your extending arm.

Original text that came with the game

Extra help for emulator users (CONTROL is TAB on some emulators by the way)

And a cute trait that mum always liked: leave the LCP on their own and they tap the screen, complete with tinking noises!
