Man I missed seeing a film with mates. Ended up seeing Iron Man with friends, two guys, one with a pregnant wife - no, she didn't give birth during the film - and we enjoyed the latest cramming of U.S culture down our Aussie gobs.
For a comic book adaptation, this was done REALLY well. You can tell Transformers gave I.L.M the freshly gained ability to do every little gadget inside larger technology, and WOW it looks good. Be even better on a screen sans faint yet obvious scratch throughout the film's left side.
(And WHEN will Oz GET digital projectors? The difference is apparently akin to projectors of the 90s VS projectors of the 50s, and that makes the filmgoer in me salivate.
The cinema was one we hadn't been to in...months? Years? All due to their pleather old and crappy seating. They were charging even with a cinema that had plush chairs with CUP HOLDERS and arms that lifted. Old cinema's seats had rigid squared off pleather arms that didn't move.
For this problem, my friend and I went further than we usually drive. Likely 20-30 minutes away on the expressway. Longer in normal traffic.
I told them over and over in these few years, and someone finally listened. Renovation of seating AND sound. Hell, the sound would make audiophiles need a change of pants after a test.
We had a good time taking the piss out of the adverts, and Carlton Draught have a BRILLIANT new ad that made us laugh our arses off.
(If you don't recall it, also worth seeing the past ad, "
Big Ad".)
Enclosed herein is that amusing as hell ad!

here for higher quality, but it'll need the WHOLE screen OR, go here to the
youtube site and click "Watch in high quality" - under VIEWS.)
So, better day than the others I've had recently, for sure!
Good mates, good film, good cinema snackage - Lovely!
