Russian Doll:
That ROCKED!
Just as fun as True Love And Other Catastrophes, and acted superbly by Hugo, David and everyone else involved!
Funny as hell, well acted, great music, and bugger me, it's an Aussie film that SHOULDN'T fall prey to "Gobble up the 90% shite, cheaply made (mostly) US cinema! Leave the 10% to the cobwebs! Bwahahaha!" syndrome.
Too many crap films get the money, while films like this get shelved. Well, this is one Aussie making sure word-of-mouth counts for something!
The film was just that good!
(And yes
lizamanynames, I couldn't help but have an extra laugh when I saw Harvey meet Katia's friend. ;) )
On side notes, it was both suprising to see credits for comedian Jimeoin in the "Made with the assistance of", despite him not having even a two second cameo in the film! Same goes for Jo Bailey's credit(which is like for Australian Sale Of The Century what Vanna White is to American Wheel Of Fortune - co-host/beautiful model turned clever businesswoman/mum).
And until now, I never knew Hugo dipped into other jobs besides acting! Go him for Co-producing!
(My impression meter is up another notch for working his arse off on not just the acting, but now some of the producing! Well, as much work as producers do anyway...which is pretty little. How do you think Joel Silver stays so ample of girth? XD )
Definitely a happier film than Little Fish, but just as good.
