Title: Push it
Characters: Sierra Anderson, Blaine Anderson (with mention of Kurt Hummel and Sue Sylvester)
Pairing: None
Verse: Alternate Transfer
Word Count: 691
Rating: PG
Warnings: Not really…?
Summary: The non-sexiness that was the Push it number
Notes: I don't think Alternate Transfer is up on Sierra's verse list yet, so to give you a quick rundown...instead of transferring to Dalton and Crawford following Blaine's bullying woes, the Andersons moved to Lima and the twins ended up at McKinley, placing them in the middle of the S1 drama -- especially after Sierra saves Kurt from the dumpster one morning and he declares himself their new best friend.

If it was not for her newfound stalker and self-proclaimed best friend, Sierra would have skipped -- mandatory assembly or not. But Kurt had been so damn insistent about her being there and for some reason, she actually felt bad telling him no. Like she was kicking a puppy. Or a baby penguin. So instead of going and hiding out behind the auditorium to finish the last chapter of the book she was reading, she was now heading into the gym with the rest of the McKinley high student body.

Scanning the crowd for a familiar mop of curls, she saw her twin had managed to read her mind and was settled on the end of one of the bleachers in the far back. Perfect. Making her way through the crowd, she slid into the seat beside him.

"You actually came?" Blaine was more than a bit surprised and kind of impressed.

"Yeah. I kind of had to. He was giving me that look. Like a puppy when you try to kick it out of the bedroom...not that you've ever had that problem..."

"That's because they are not puppies. They are evil masterminds, disguised as marshmallows, bent on taking over the world. And they know I'm on to them which is why they keep trying to kill me."

"Evil masterminds? Really?" Sierra couldn't help but give him a look. "Chanel and Dior? Masterminds? You are such a dork."

"Mock me. Go ahead. You'll feel bad when they've killed me and you've become their slave."

If Sierra had a retort for that, she never got the chance to use it as the lights in the gym began going down and the curtains on the makeshift stage parted to reveal New Directions. Kurt had warned Sierra that they had switched out the music -- mostly to assure her that she would not actually be subjected to disco if she came. So when the opening chords of "Push It" started playing, she wasn't all that surprised. However, once the performance started...

Eyes widening, one hand moved to cover her mouth. It wasn't that she was shocked or scandalized. It wasn't that the performance was controversial. It was that is was awkward -- so very awkward -- and as much as she wanted to look away, she couldn't. Rachel Berry was wearing knee pads. Knee pads! And the hell was Kurt doing? The little motion with his hand traveling down to his...oh Sweet Baby Raptor Jesus. She had no words for any of this. None. No, that's not true. She had one. Clusterfuck. Clusterfuck was a good word and probably the most accurate description she could come up wi...hold on. Wait just one minute. Was Finn Hudson rapping? And just when she thought it could not, possibly, get anymore awkward.

She started laughing then...not out loud, that would be mean. It was more those waves of giggles one gets when trying not to laugh -- the type that shake your whole upper body. Falling into her brother, she laid her forehead against his shoulder and tried to conceal just how amusing she found this whole situation to be. Not that he was doing much better -- biting down on his left hand to keep himself from snickering. But they needed to keep it together. They had to. Mostly because Coach Sylvester was three rows in front of them and Sierra was pretty sure the older woman did NOT share their amusement.

But despite the giggling and the fact that she, at least, found the whole thing to be the complete opposite of sexy, when the number was over and the whole gym was on their feet, applauding, so were she and Blaine. Because they deserved it. They did. They put themselves out there and they took a risk and for that they get applause. Not to mention the whole thing where Kurt was starting to grow on her. But they weren't going to discuss that. Oh no.

He, like everything else having to do with Lima and McKinley, was a nuisance. Or at least that was what she would tell people.
