Being a former resident of Boston (as a college student), my blood ran cold when I saw the stories on the internet
at lunch time today about pipe bombs and IEDs being found at various sites in Boston.
Was Boston about to be the next city victimized by "9-11" style attacks?
I made some calls to check on some friends and sent a couple of e-mails out.
On the way home, I tuned in to WBZ-AM out of Boston (which can be heard in Northern Connecticut) to find out more about the devices.
I heard the newscaster mention "A TV show promotion gone wrong...".
I just shook my head in bewilderment...
Who in their right mind would promote a cartoon by placing objects on bridge supports?
I hope that Turner Broadcasting, the ad agency they hired etc. offer a big, fat apology to the City of Boston. They also need to spend a lot of time
AND money on PSAs or something as a "mea culpa" for their stupidity.
Let us hope that the next media promotion is done sensibly...
XP to myspace...
