Long-Awaited "Carnival", The Little Ones' First Big Major Event!

May 15, 2010 21:47

So today was the big day, it sure didn't disappoint either....johnnyride missed out, but I'm sure she had loads of fun with Taylor; I mean come on it's Taylor :D let's not delay, time for this update!

Got up early so I could eventually meet up with Brian (Saito not DAC president) for the big day, you know I had to hype the event to friends otherwise it'd be dead....plus he was our main Wii support. :D I thank him again for all his patience & pray that he had fun! I ended up not meet him at New Carrollton early since he missed the bus :( & I had to be there to help them set up around 11. Got there with open arms & a few of the other upperclassmen students recognizing me...didn't think I'd get such a response from students who weren't anime club members or resident AFJROTC cadets. Heart was quite warm, but had to get straight away to work with decorating & setting up our little table. Students went as far as taking advertising to the streets with bullhorns & the whole nine-yards; was quite impressed to be honest...the class officers even got a radio station to come & help advertise for a bit too. Setting up the table didn't take too long, needed an extra table for food though; Brian got there with my impeccable Metro bus directions :D the tent seemed to be the only "fail" part of the day. The main class booth & a few others had tents to cover their tables & work area, but sadly ours wasn't up to snuff. The crowd slowly started to ease in around 12-12:30. The first activity we had set up was DDR. The biggest surprise was Henock & David's active participation...I knew David was good from all his stories of practicing, but Enoch!?!? I was astounded & slightly happy for him too, maybe this is how he can break out of his shell....LITERALLY! Tried it for my first time & got a C, :D not too bad with my crooked feet...still a decent dancer regardless. The celebrity of the day was none other than the ever fun & charismatic Noble Brothers, mainly all the hype is around Mitchel though. >:D You know I had to hype it a lot more than necessarily & wanted to rub it in Sally's face since she talks about them; "mainly" Mitchel...a lot. Senior year this, senior year that...I will admit to cising them a bit myself: What do they got that I ain't got though?

(Mitchel first two, Marcus latter two)

Never mind :/ don't answer that lol...they've got a lot going for them; not to mention they're already apart of this awesome band, Mitchel showed us some of his skills in Rock Band later on in the day. Apparently the word of the "carnival" went as far as Bowie....Sally was

stanning the whole time she was talking to Mitchel on the phone, she said "I can finally die in peace...", srsly though Sally? After one phone call? He did attend DuVal at one point; wish he hadn't left...would've definitely made the perfect mascot for the anime club lol, I know I'm terrible aren't I? The food was selling like hot cakes at our table, more specifically the Teriyaki chicken with rice & snow cones :D I even had to buy some...was quite tasty, ;) that's a lot coming from a food connoisseur like myself. Secretary Bertina was really working the table & Oniel/Angie's advertising helped quite a lot...our "bootleg" banner could've been better, but the customers were coming for miles. Glad that my good turntablist buddy Matt (Musikon, get hip to his music ASAP) was able to come out; :) you know you can't just tell one person about these events. I mainly siced the mini-Pokémon tournament we had to him though...took us a while to set it up though, pesky Wii & it's tracking of UV rays XP. Finally got it running & the Battle Revolution matches began.

1st Matchup: Donzell vs. Melvin, Victor: Donzell (NOTE: ;) Beat Donzell earlier in the day, so he'll have to rematch me to prove himself)
2nd Matchup: Jesse vs. Matt, Victor: Jesse (NOTE: ;) Finally got to Matt's ballin' Zangoose in action)
Final Matchup: Saito vs. Me, Victor: Saito  (Note: Funny story about this match; beat him once before, so he knew my team like the back of his hand...I'll get him next time though)

Saito....you truly are

Didn't do a full on tournament since all the main hype was in SSBB (Super Smash Bros. Brawl), figures x3 lol. The funny part about this was as soon as we started the first match; the generators for everything regarding the "carnival" had to be taken up. Overall, the day was wonderful; one specific person was missing though: Brian Florido, a.k.a Rio the DAC President! For an event to be successful without the president there is kinda sad; we did have the VP Oniel there & I assisted quite a lot with the table & advertising. Malik was there even though he was sick XP so no excuse jk, I know things have been hard for Short-Stop & I know another certain reason why he wasn't there, ;) but that's being kept hush hush. Ride home with Saito & Matt was hearty & filled with laughter as it should be, O_O got in ready to pass out & take a long rest. In all, the club raised $218.24...I couldn't be prouder! Now it's time to budget that money wisely for future events, ;) that doesn't mean however that you can use any of it on yourselves & the End Of The Year party though. Looking forward to what's to come in the chronicles of the DAC, but that just about wraps up today's post. There's just one more thing..........................

Eye Candy

Decided to treat you with an old pic of me, (not TOO old but accurate enough) now tell me what they got on me lmao!
