Notes: Peter's love for his parents never fades, but as he grows, Uncle Ben becomes much more of a father to him than Richard ever was. Ben takes him fishing, takes him to Disneyland, teaches him to ride his bike, and is generally the voice of moral and emotional support. Peter goes to Uncle Ben to check for monsters under the bed, and Ben will always check. Ben also grows attached to Peter and begins thinking of him as his son rather than his nephew. Notes: What looks like a black stain attaches itself to a space shuttle on its way back to earth. Doc Connors takes an interest in the substance, which turns out to be a goo-like symbiote. Peter takes an interest too, especially when it decides that it quite likes Peter. With a new black suit, Peter feels invincible; his strength is doubled, his speed is quickened, he is healed almost the moment he gets wounded. (Also note the transition from "I" to "we" - this is all too fitting as well.)
