- I tried out the animated icons, but didn't like 'em, so I'm sticking with the ones I've got, but adding more options.
- I decided I didn't like the sidebar, so I got rid of it and incorporated the info into my profile, which I've updated.
- I've become re-obsessed with this playlist I downloaded ages ago on wedontsendit. I liked it fine at the time, but recently I've rediscovered the awesomeness. It's very indie, and has a whole bunch of British bands, very wicked. The annoying thing is, I don't remember who made it. I seem to think they're called josh though, 'cos that's what I named the playlist. I've uploaded it here.
- I've redesigned the Firefox logo I made, made it more button-like. The words still look a little fuzzy, but I'm happy for now. Take a look on my profile. It's snaggable (with credit please), if anyone wants to use it.
- We've posted the first masterlist at hp_themed_recs, for Firsts, and our new theme is fic set outside Britain, so go check it out, and make a lot of recs, ok? ;D
- We have the WA State General Election on Saturday, and it will be the first time I'm legal to vote! (I was a bit unsure of if I'd actually have citizenship by the time I was 18, but it's all good.) Me and my dad will be up early, voting as soon as possible, then going to help out my brother's girlfriend at the polls. She's running for the Green party in her constituency.
I'm excited to vote, but don't particularly like anyone running for my area. I've had a bunch of stuff sent to me, but it's just pissed me off. They all attack each other and use ridiculous 'methods'. One guy had his daughter write a letter, which was sent with his info letter, telling us how great her dad was, how he's the best dad in the world, blah blah blah. It's kind of pathetic, I don't care how great a dad he is, what the hell does it have to do with politics? Ugh. :( - I want to make a 3 column layout. It's simple, the base layout is nice and I like that the entry links are images by default. They're the ugly lj grey ones, but easy to change, no need for a paid account or anything. I'm trawling ColourLovers for a nice colour palette for inspiration.
- I'm so in love with Smashing Magazine right now, or really, all the time. ;) They're an online web-development magazine, and have awesome articles about all sorts. They have this thing this year where at the start of each month they post (user submitted) wallpapers, each based on the current month. All with two versions, with a calendar, and without, and for a whole bunch of different screen sizes. I started paying attention in June, and have found a bunch I love. One of the awesome things is that they cater to big screen sizes. My screen res is 1680x1050 and it's hard to find wallpapers I like and that fit my screen. One of the downsides is that they all have the SM logo in the corner, but it's fairly easy to remove from some, I've managed to do it for all of mine. :D You can find September's here, though be warned, very image heavy, even though the previews are scaled.
- I made muffins yesterday, banana and white chocolate chip. They're my favourite kind to make, so delicious! And people always say great things about them, which my attention-whoring self loves. ;D
- I was watching Channel V yesterday and two things happened. i) I discovered a new band I love (Mystery Jets!) and ii) I saw the video for FOBs The Take Over, The Breaks Over. Omg, Hemmy! I totally just laughed the entire way through. I loved the doghouse though, with 'HEMINGWAY' written across the top! :D
