So, yesterday was relatively eventful - in comparison to all my other days at least.
Went into Leicester to see Chicago at De Montfort Hall with my sister, and it was a pretty glorious experience. I love love love musicals and Chicago really is one of the best. This is the second time that I've seen it live and, while it was a touring cast, it was still brilliant.
And it made me further realise that the film, doesn't really hold a candle to it.
I mean, I like the film. But how can you do Chicago without the Bob Fosse choreography?! It's kind of blasphemy. Also they completely changed Roxie's character and added random scenes whilst taking out some of the best songs...
The film is very good. It is a very good film.
But if you ever get the chance to see the musical, professionally, good god take it. It's glorious.
