i've decided that for the time being i'm only going to read novels written by women. it seems that (for the moment at least) when i pick up a book written by a man, (particularly men from the early twentieth/ late nineteenth centuries), all they do is make me really angry. i just finished "unless" by carol shields, and now i'm reading "the stone diaries". i guess they make me angry too, but a different kind of angry.
