Wee. Some of that I already knew.. But I got a continuing ed book on Spanish phrases for OT PT and Speech in the mail yesterday. Makes me happpyyy. After having 2 spanish speakers (both knew a tiny bit of english but not enough) for the past 3-4 weeks I've definitely regained some of my skill, but still ended up frustrated/ repeating "ayyyy no se!!!" a lot during sessions lol. The book doesn't have everything that I would have liked to have been able to say, but it has quite a bit from basic stuff I already knew, to more specific evaluation and treatment stuff, including precautions, which is helpful. Of course, I got it just in time for one patient to DC and for me to be off for a week, during which the other is supposed to DC. I'm sure there will be more. Now, if only I could speak/understand Navajo lol. Don't think I could do Navajo from a book, I at least know how to read/write/pronounce spanish already from my many classes years ago. But we do seem to get a good amount of Navajo only people in at work.
This is my only hesitation about moving to Oregon. I think I'll miss the spanish influence a lot. I missed it in Sarasota too.
