(no subject)
This past Friday I travelled to Bonduel to compete in STAR Events with Anna & Danielle. STAR events are part of an orgainzation we are in- FCCLA (Family, Career & Community Leaders of America). We decided to do our STAR event in the category of "Applied Technology." As a group we made a video showcasing all of the clubs/organizations at DPHS, which included interviews, pictures, and snazzy music :) In order for us to advance to state competition we needed to get AT LEAST a 90/100, (which is a gold star). Well due to our HARD WORK we managed to get a freaken 99/100. &%$@#! Hopefully we can do just as well at state, because if we do then SAN DIEGO HERE WE COME! (<--thats where Nationals are :)!)
My cousin Sammy came into town on Thursday and I dragged her along to my practice w/the girls and she also came to Bonduel Friday, I'm really glad she was there to share my gold star moment!!! We always manage to have fun when she's in town. Although every weekend has its dull/boring moments--its the reindeer boxers or the doughy pizza crust that keeps things interesting!! I'm excited to move closer to her this fall, she's honestly like a sister to me. We know each others bad habits, things that annoy one another, and most importantly we know how to have FUN!
My brother called tonight--and as always it was a relief to hear his voice. Soon he'll be heading back to Baghdad and then packing up for home. He has so many plans for his return, and thats awesome, what's even better is I fit into them. Hopefully we'll get a chance to take a road trip down to Milwaukee and visit the college, and go see a movie at the IMAX. This time I will be better prepared for his visit. I know that he'll have a lot to do, and people to see, but just having him in the US, more importantly the same state as me will be a huge relief! I love my brother beyond words--through the years he's grown up A LOT. Though through it all he's always seemed to keep his one-of-a-kind personality and for that I admire him. DJ, if you're reading this you'll be happy to know that I'm reading the book you bought me:) Its only been a year or so since you gave it to me! haha
Well thats about all I have for now, I'm sure in a day or two there will be some drama for me to talk about--ain't that the truth girls? ;)
