Welcome to the real REAL America.

Obama won, and I look at the world differently today. As cheesy, and cliche as it may sound, I was almost in tears last night as they announced across the board (CNN, Fox News, MSNBC) that Obama would be the next president. I had chills as he spoke, not just to his supporters, not just to the Democrats, or Liberals, not just to Americans, but to the world... "It's the answer spoken by young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled." ..." And to all those watching tonight from beyond our shores, from parliaments and palaces, to those who are huddled around radios in the forgotten corners of the world, our stories are singular, but our destiny is shared, and a new dawn of American leadership is at hand.

To those -- to those who would tear the world down: We will defeat you. To those who seek peace and security: We support you. And to all those who have wondered if America's beacon still burns as bright: Tonight we proved once more that the true strength of our nation comes not from the might of our arms or the scale of our wealth, but from the enduring power of our ideals: democracy, liberty, opportunity and unyielding hope." ... I was moved. I can't imagine being a person who lived through the civil rights movement, and sitting there watching that.

I also give props to John Mccain, who bowed out as graceful as any candidate could. Now only if his followers could follow his lead. I heard boo's and jeer's from the crowd as he spoke, the message boards are lighting up today, people saying that he will never be there president, even those who say it was a SIN to vote for Obama, that the voters of Obama will surely burn in hell. To those who are moving out of the United States, I say don't forget to write, and don't forget, your always welcome here. In the REAL America.
