What is a toaster when it is unplugged from the wall? It is a gathering of heating elements, plastic, and basic circuitry that resides in a dormant state. Is it still a toaster, or is does it represent only the ambitions of the engineers who designed it for one specific use?
I am not an artist. I am not a poet. I am not a genius, though smart in a completely relative way. Every day, however, I try to differentiate myself from other people. Trying to find talents within that will somehow define myself from the rest. Having not been so successful at this, I'm turning to a completely new creative outlet, and I think that this will somehow unleash a lot of which I've been holding inside for so long.
Photography has always been an interest of mine, and I'm getting my very first "real" camera at the end of the month; a Nikon D70. I've never been this excited over something material that wasn't a computer or gadget in my life. Okay, so maybe it is IS a gadget, but I think that it represents something more. It represents my urge to be creative, and it has a possibility of unleashing something more. I have a lot of ideas in my head, and even just sitting still and thinking about HOW I am going to use this tool is exciting in it's own right. Man, I can't wait.
