on the road (in-character, on camera)

The air shimmered, and a car appeared in the pasture. From the detailing, the black convertible appeared to date from the mid-1960s. The shaven-headed man behind the wheel looked around for a moment before throwing the car into gear. As the Thunderbird rolled out on to the dirt road, he spoke to his two passengers.

"Right, we're about two miles off I-87, somewhere between Albany and Schenectady. It's about 150, 160 miles to New York, so you've got about an hour to figure out how to find the Spitz fellow before we get there, right? Good." The wind whipped through Leah's long hair as the car flew down the road and slid around a corner. Nigel smiled her. "Don't worry, love. We'll get there just fine. You might want to close your eyes for this next bit, though."
