[Voice / Action] backdated to earlier today for I am slow.

[ Thanks to a little help from Joshua, Rui has managed to get herself settled in the village, choosing an apartment in Building 3, since it was close to where she woke up. She's mostly kept to herself, trying to come to terms with everything (and reading the heck out of the guide), but she's wasted enough time fretting, so at last she's resolved to ( Read more... )

[ Helios always wanders a bit more during this time period. Especially when all the New feathers and such show up. So he's in the plaza when he spots Rui. He notes the look she has as if she's looking for someone so he'll lend a helping hand. ]

Ah. Miss. Do you need help with something?

[Rui perks up, lifting a hand a bit in greeting.]

Not exactly, but- I'm looking for some friends of mine, to see if they came here too. Do you know anybody named Mika, Yayoi, Akira, Ryo, or Yui? Oh, and Shinji... o-or Saijo. Atsuki Saijo.

[She's hesitant at the last part, but it's worth asking anyway.]

[ Helios gives her a friendly smile with an accompany wave back. His expression turns thoughtful though as he purses his lips. ]

I-I can't say I've...heard any of them over the journals. But...I'll be sure to keep an ear and eye out for them!

Oh... [Well, she wasn't really expecting a yes anyway.] Okay, I'd appreciate that. If you see any of them, just tell them Rui Yamase is here, please.

It's a bit of a gamble, I'm afraid, when it comes who is brought here and who isn't. [ Helios smiles and nods. ] Of course Miss Yamase. I'll be sure to do so. Ah...did you recently arrive then?

[ Since he hasn't heard your voice over the network... ]

Yeah... I just got here this week. It takes a lot of getting used to, huh...

[He seems like someone who really knows what they're talking about, so-]

What about you?

It's a lot to take in at first. But there's plenty of people willing to help and assist those who need it.

[ Just a blink. And then a smile. ] Oh. I've been here for a year and a half. Not as long as some but...it's still quite awhile.

A... year and a half? And others have been around longer?

[Oh god, this is a nightmare. It's getting worse every day, isn't it.]

Y-yes unfortunately. [ He doesn't mean to frighten her, on the contrary. But it is something that shouldn't be left out. ]

But people...people can leave just as quickly as they come. We don't exactly know the cause or what determines it.

So basically I could go home today or never?

[That's so....

....Okay she might have to give herself a good cry later. Again. Yes.]

Y-yes technically that's, that's the idea. [ Oh dear. ]

But! But it's not s-so bad. I-I mean everyone here is nice and helpful and welcoming. It makes the transition and getting used to this place easier.

I don't know anyone here, though... my friends, and my family--!

[Whoa, whoa, settle down there, Rui. This is a total stranger, she doesn't need to start falling apart in front of him or something.]

...I... I'm sorry... forget it, I'm sure you have your own problems.

No please, it's really quite alright. Everyone has-has a bit of trouble when first arriving here. I...I didn't have anyone here either. I still don't, not from my own world at least.

[ His tone in understanding and comforting as possible. ] It's best to not be by yourself when you first arrive. If you'd like I could possibly show you around? If, ah, if no one has or you haven't yourself seen things yet.

[ Maybe it'll help get her mind off of things. ]

Oh, you don't have to go out of your way or anything. I've seen most of the basics already, but... maybe you could recommend your favourite places or things to do? Anything that helps you get distracted from- um. Everything, I guess.

If, if you're certain. [ He pauses thinking for a moment. ] The library and most definately the bakery. Ah, hm, I do like to go walking sometimes down to one of the lakes or even just in the woods. Walking usually gets my mind off of things. [ He waves his hand nonchalantly at the woods off in the distance. ]

There's a hot spring up by the mountains too. I haven't been but I hear it's wonderful for relaxing. There's also the beach, though I suspect it might be getting a bit chilly for that. [ Another pause and then he looks back at her. ] I suppose it depends on what you like to do. There's also the school.

I'm supposed to be in school right now at home, so I'll probably try that. The hot springs sounds wonderful, too! Do you know if it's hard to get to?
