Oh my god. WHHHY?

Freewrite inspired by something unexplainable going on over here.

And obviously, I see a crack couple so I must write it. It is a compulsion, I tell you! So very bad. May the nonexistent fandom gods forgive me (not!).

Title: she was like snow

Author: Hana J.

Pairing: RUKIA/SASUKE

Sasuke had been sleeping when the girl had appeared in his room like a ghost stepping through a wall. She hadn't entered by the door and her chakra was a pulse of white around her, blinding him when he sat up in bed and faced her. "Who are you?"

Instead of answering, she looked around, her hand on the hilt of her sword. "Not here," she muttered, swatting at a curious black butterfly dancing around her face. With a flash of pale foot, poised on the very air around him, she was off--running faster than Sasuke's normal eyes would follow. His eyes burned to bloody life and he ran after her quickly, barely keeping up. She rounded the corner and then stopped.

Sasuke stared at her back, wondering when she would feel his eyes upon her. She did not spare him a glance and instead, headed toward a room where one of Orochimaru's lower shinobi slept. A trail of white ribbon followed her stroke, a killing blow that slit the man's throat before he could even gurgle awake. Not one drop of blood fell on that pure ribbon.

Drawing Kusanagi from its sheath, Sasuke let his charka flow into the blade, giving it an unearthly glow, much like that girl's skin. "What is your objective?" he asked.

She turned to look at him, as if surprised he was there. "You can see me?" she asked, her voice lower than he expected. She looked frail, like a flower, but her voice was rich and held strength in its tone.

"Yes," Sasuke answered, observing her. She was graceful, the grip on her sword was one of experience and she had moved faster than him. He could still kill her.

His answer had made her take notice of him. "What is your objective?" he asked again and this time she answered him.

"I'm a death god. I kill hollows."

Sasuke did not scoff. Anything was possible: Naruto was a demon, Orochimaru was (almost) immortal. That man then had been what she had referred to as a hollow. If the man was a hollow, then that meant she could kill humans. If she was a god -- if she truly could kill anyone -- then he would become a god too.

"How can I become a death god?"

She wiped the blood off her sword and sheathed it. "I've never had a human ask me that before," she said, perplexed, her hand on her chin. "Well, I could stab you with my sword but that last time I did that it didn't work out very well."

"Then can you lend me your powers for one man?"

The girl's eyes darkened, her pupils seeming to fill the white of her eyes. "I'm sorry," she said and turned her back on him. A flicker and she was gone.

Sasuke had found someone better than Orochimaru. He let his chakra drain out of his sword. There was nothing in his room that was important and he would not return to it. He would find her again and become a god.

A god could kill Itachi.

Oh yes, and Happy Birthday Sasuke, you get crack. ♥
