Dan Harmon leaving Community

This is from a tumblr post from just an hour ago:

"Hey, did I miss anything?"

I'm... absolutely speechless.

(I don't even know how to tag this, I'm shocked...)

Yep... And two more writers just quit... It's absolutely terrible... Dan Harmon and #sixseasonsandweloveyoudanharmon have been trending worldwide on twitter... I'm still in total shock...

What writers have quit? Chris McKenna and who else?

I'm so sad and upset at this turn of events. I'm really worried about what's going to happen to the show now that Dan won't be in charge...

End of an era tbh.

Aauugh, no... The moment that the original showrunner leaves is when a show goes downhill. I mean, look at The Office.

Although, when Greg Daniels left, he created Parks and Recreation.

Haha, maybe. But I really hope that Dan could make a new show in a more... free environment. I dunno, Comedy Central or FX, maybe.

Also, NBC's decision makes no sense. They're already making season 4 smaller, and moving it to Friday, why the hell would they get rid of Dan as well? It seems to me that they're already planning to axe it. I'd prefer it end with Dan Harmon rather than switching it to somebody else (and probably axing it still afterwards because that's what people do to awesome things.)

Removing Dan is not NBC's decision, it's Sony's. They probably think the new guys can make them more money or something :/

Well... at least they've only got 13 episodes to screw it up?

To be honest, I'm not totally surprised this has happened. His behaviour recently has been pretty bad for a showrunner. (I'm not saying he's completely to blame, but nobody in that situation was acting professionally.)

I'm just glad there's a fourth season. If we can see them graduate and hopefully a glimpse at life post-Greendale then I'll be happy.

This is terrible. Dan had a unique vision. This proves that Network TV is not a place for creativity. It's a place where only ratings matter. And the way to get ratings is by giving people exactly the same crap they've been getting for a decade.

I don't know if the show can be the same or similar to what it was. However, because Joel and Gillian and Yvette and Danny and Alison and others in the cast have been so supportive of us fans, I'm still supporting the show. I wish them the best.

Your last two sentences summed up my feelings so succinctly. I hate what happened, but I love this cast too much to jump ship.
