My new teapot!

I received my first tea pot last year as a birthday gift from a friend. It's an earthenware/clay pot which has a lovely brown/tan glaze on the outside, however the inside has been glazed in black, making it difficult to see anything. From using this pot, I've come to the realization that, for me, part of the enjoyment of tea is actually seeing the tea. I love the different colors of the leaves as well as the brewed product, I love blends with colorful flowers and fruit pieces, or just watching the tea leaves unfurl as the tea steeps. Unfortunately, you can't see any of this with an earthenware or clay pot, especially one with a black interior.

For Christmas, I received a gift card for Williams-Sonoma. Originally, I had planned on purchasing a mandoline, however, upon browsing their website I discovered this beautiful glass teapot. I thought it was very pretty before reading the product description, but after finding out that the inspiration for the design was Cinderella, I was truly enchanted. After researching teapots on other website, I ended up going back to this one because of the glass strainer. The strainer is not mesh metal, but glass - so you can see the tea leaves as they steep!

This past weekend my girlfriend and I went to the local store and I purchased the tea pot, which also comes with glass creamer and sugar bowl. I was giddy from the moment we walked into the store until we we returned home and I actually got to play with my new toy. And then I was elated!
