Mum!
Another Howler? Why!? I haven’t even had enough time to get into trouble again!
I was just joking about going on another adventure with Bellatrix Black. Really! I was just writing it in code to see if you Oliver could read it. Obveeosly Obviosly Clearly I need to make the code much harder easier since you could read he needed you to

And practically everyone knows that code! We'll have to find a really good one to get it past your mum.

But I didn't think my mum fell into the "practically everyone" category!! I mean, really, when did she learn it?!
*glances around*
*motions for Ted to come closer*
*lowers his voice*
But between you and me... I'm working on a new code to write to Oliver with... Rearranging letters and stuff like that...
*nods quickly*
I think it'll be much better than this old code...

*eyes light up and he grins, nodding*
That's a real good idea. But if your mum sees a lot of nonsense in letters, she's going to know that you're writing in code.
Oooh! Hey! What if you put the real answer in the misspellings in a letter? That way, it'll look like a real letter with bad spelling, but it'll be a code too!

Sometimes I don't think my mum was ever little! She's not much fun!
*shrugs*
Yeah, but even if she knows it's a code, she still have to work it all out...
*eyebrows shoot upward*
Misspellings? What do you mean? Can you show me on a scrap of parchment?
Reply
*nods, pulling out a piece of parchment and a pen* Yeah, like this. I'll capitalize all the letters in code, okay? *starts to scribble on the paper*
CandI tastAs yuMmy, my fEvorite kinD is GranAlated StRawberries.
*scratches his head, looking at the code* Okay, it might need some work. And I don't know what a Granulated Strawberry is. But, see! It says 'I am Edgar!'

*eyes gleam*
Wow...
That...
That would be some code...
It's brilliant! And...
*breaks off with a heavy sigh*
There's only one problem with it...
Reply
*glances at Edgar* What's the problem? Except that it makes you look like you can't spell.
Reply
That's good advice...
*glares a bit*
No! The problem wouldn't be with me misspelling things...
*sighs*
The problem is... Oliver's only seven and, um, well, I don't know that he'd notice some of the misspellings...
*heavy sigh*
I think I need something very... I don't know... something with a lot of patterns that he could figure out...
