Dear Verity,

I had a weird, weird, strange and bizarre dream last night. Oh my gosh, it was awful. It wasn’t quite a nightmare, but it wasn’t… enjoyable, shall we say. It started off kind of normally - I was having a Potions lesson, and we were all watching Professor Snape demonstrate some spell or other. Then some other things happened which I can’t quite remember, and suddenly everyone was gone from the classroom and it was just me and a boy called Wayne left. We were sitting on a big bench for some reason instead of at desks, I‘m not sure why. It was odd, but not as odd as… well. Wayne and I were getting told off for talking during class, and Professor Snape was shouting at us. Then, all of a sudden, I jumped up and kissed Professor Snape. A proper kiss. And I enjoyed it! Oh yuck yuck yuck ugh yuck aaargh

Now, I know you might be thinking that it’s not all that bad. The thing is, Severus oh gosh what did I write that for? Professor Snape isn’t very… well, he’s horrid. He’s mean, strict and has this awful straggly hair is not at all good-looking. He’s the sort whom you can’t imagine has ever had a girlfriend. And another thing - it wasn’t just a kiss

Does it mean I secretly fancy Professor Snape, do you think? I’m quite sure I don’t, but the dream was quite oh gosh intense and my dreams have sort of come true before. Not that I think I’m going to suddenly start kissing my teacher - for one I don’t do Potions any more and I also don’t think I could quite bring myself to get that near to him - but dreams often mean something, don’t they? Oh, Verity, am I weird? I can’t talk to anyone else about this - they’d laugh forever and ever. Write back soon before I go mad.

Love,
