Dear Editor Crabtree:
My name is Rita Skeeter, and I am a second-year student (a Ravenclaw) at Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. I am writing to you to tell you all about an interesting situation that I've been dealing with since the holiday.
My sister Francesca Skeeter bought me a Quick-Quotes Quill for Christmas, but the thing doesn't work properly. It misquotes anyone I try to interview. To show you this, I've included a transcript of an actual interview I conducted (in sparkly blue ink) and an interview it conducted (in the icky brown ink). The interview subject was the same, a second-year Hufflepuff named Bozo Capulet (yes that's his real name). As you can see, the icky brown ink interview is completely wrong, and even slandarous libelous.
I've written to the Quill's manufacturer, Mr. Thomas Lounds of Lounds Enterprises, Ltd, to tell him that it doesn't work. He refuses to tell me if the Quill is faulty, or if it's supposed to misquote people. As some of your writers may be unknowingly using broken and/or malicious quills, I think this is a story you might want to investigate.
I've enclosed copies of all the letters Mr. Lounds sent me. Maybe you can interview him?
Thank you for your time. Your paper is so wonderful, I hope someday to work for you!
Sincerely,
