Dear Dad,
I think I might have a girlfriend. I’m not sure because she kissed me first, and I don’t know why she did it. I really like her, though. Her name’s Penelope and she’s in Ravenclaw, and she’s really pretty. I’m just not sure how to talk to her about it. Should I just ask her? How do you ask a girl about that sort of thing?
I hope this finds you well. I’m very well myself, and my N.E.W.T. studies are coming along very well - I am quite positive that I shall receive excellent results, when the time comes. Please give my love to Mum, as well as to Bill and Charlie, should you have the pleasure of speaking with them.
