Dear Petunia,

I'm so sorry I din't write to you before, it's been so busy here with all the classes starting and it's so difir different from home. But I like it, everything just makes so much more sense, like how magic can be used to do anything, from cooking food to turning matches into needles! That's what we did today in Transfiguration, it was hard, but fun too. Me and James and this other boy, (Serious? strange name isn't it?) were the ones who got the closest to making the matchstick turn pointey and silvery. I know, I know, you don't want to hear about magic. But it's going to be hard to write to you if I can't tell you about what I do everyday. You have to admit now that magic does exist, I was right, you were wrong. Nyah-nyah! But I shouldn't gloot, Mum gives me a smack on the bum (even though I'm eleven now!) everytime I do, and I'm sure she'd know, even if it was in a letter.

You aren't angry that I'm a witch and you're not- do you Petunia? You were acting awfully funny on the train station, I hope you're not mad me, I couldn't stand it if you were. I wish that you were with me, at Hogwarts. You'd be a third year, probly a Ravenclaw and I could say to my friends, that's my sister, she's so smart (cause you are) and I bet you'd be top of the class and know all the best spells and you'd teach them to me- and everyone would know the Evans sisters.

You're shaking your head, aren't you? Like you usualy do, 'there goes Lily, off in her fantasay world again'. Axcept Except, I kind of am now, aren't? Here at Hogwarts. And you're back in your real world, at Westwood.

I hope you're doing alright at school, I know you are. Have you met any boys yet? You should tell me when you do. I'm going to sign off now, but remeber to write back soon!

Your sister!

P.S. Please don't be freeked out by the owl. His name is Phinias and he's very friendly. Give him some water and he'll fly back to school as soon as he's rested.
