Dear Eddie,
I hope you have a happy birthday. Don't eat the Chocolate Frogs or your birthday cake all in one go or you will sick. And if you eat it all today you won't be able to have any tomorrow or the day after!
School is quite interesting, even without you to keep to me company. My friends are very nice and all wish you a happy birthday. Except Tom. He just looked sceptacle when I told it was your birthday. I wonder when his birthday is, and if I can give him a present.
I hope that you enjoy your presents and don't get into any trouble. Another whole year gone! I bet you grew much taller while I've been at school this term. I'll be home in a few weeks and you can show me all your new toys.
Much love,
P.S. Dear Papa, I hope that mother is still doing well and that the doctors are doing their jobs. I hope that you and Mrs Hooper are well. I look forward to seeing you all again. And coming home. Tom is being very secretive and Olive won't help me in, oh, it doesn't matter.
