I'm ready for the holidays to be over. Over and done with.
People have been telling me to "Cheer up and get in the holiday spirit", and I want to smack those people. My job has sucked out the majority of my 'holiday spirit'.
Now, yes, I am excited about Thursday and Friday, getting to go home, spend time with my family, and relax. By then I'm sure I'll have some sort of Christmas cheer. But now...
People are insane and disgusting. The way they come into my place of work and treat me and my fellow co-workers is beyond baffling. Getting pissed when we're out of something, crowding around me (along with 5 others, making me pretty claustrophobic), smacking me in the back of the head to get my attention, cussing me out when something's too expensive... I don't understand. Even before I worked in retail I NEVER treated anyone like that. It makes no sense how people can act like such uncivilized animals.
And on top of that if I open I'm in at 7:30 and if I close I don't leave until almost 1am, and don't work a shift short than 8 or 8 1/2 hours. It's so exhausting.
Yes, it's good for money, and it's not that I'm not grateful for my job or anything like that. It's just that the sooner the middle of January rolls around, the better.
