I did that silly thing last night - I'm about to get a much-needed early night at about 10.30 but ... oooh. the
remake of Dawn of the Dead, I'll just watch a few minutes to get the feel of it.
Two hours later the film's over and I can't get to sleep because I'm too jumpy.
Zombies - brrr - my most feared horrorstory - it's not that they are un-dead it's the infected madness. The idea of the people you know being changed out of all recognition by rage. Perhaps it's a childhood fear of the parents becoming disfigured by anger. I noticed that the nastiest bit (the clips taken with a hand-held camera which intercut the end credits) has the backing track 'get down with the sickness' by - uh - 'Disturbed' (?). Anyway with the lines
No mommy, don't do it again
Don't do it again
I'll be a good boy
I'll be a good boy, I promise
Eeergh, horrible and disturbing.
