I slept! Okay well I admit I slept because I had a tamazipan (or however it’s spelt) tablet which knocked me out for seven full hours but SEVEN FULL HOURS! WOO HOO! I feel - well - tired really but tired is better than yesterday when I felt like something akin to the living dead at times. I *may* get some of Thursday or Friday off as well as the ( Read more... )

it was on just after the repeats of the prisoner in the early nineties tell him. say "i crush your head" to him and it may come back as that took off quite a bit even at our noticeably traditional school. there's a british series by the father ted writers called "big train" (imminent on dvd) which is very similar in tone - lots of sketches like the devil working in an office, goose assasinations etc - which he will be aware of. and "brain candy" was released over here but - um - probably isn't very representative (as it's not very good as you probably know)

it's great though isn't it? i mean really hit and miss at times but so far "these are the daves i know", "nobody likes us", "sorry for all that bowel and throat cancer i caused - i guess i was just on a roll" and "i shot a man once just to watch him die. but i was distracted and missed it. my friends tried to describe it to me but it's just not the same" are some of the funniest things i've seen in AGES. that and the steady diet of MST3K sarah keeps feeding me kept me jollied up while in the states. sorry for tempting you! only forty eight dollars in best buy!

I think it was actually the "I'm squishing your head" thing that made me ask him if he knew what I was talking about, because that's something I'll say from time to time. :-) And you're right, it is great. Not everything works, of course, but the things that do are enough to keep me happy. I especially like that "I shot a man ... " one myself.

I do know that Andrew is aware of the MST3K goodness he's missing here, because he saw that when he was in the states. And that is, in fact, another show that I used to see on cable that stopped being shown a couple of years ago. They're just asking me to buy the DVDs of these things. Sigh. See, I'm easily temptable; don't worry about it.

well if we did meet up i can bring MST3K *AND* "kids in the hall" with us - though be warned, me and sarah are passionate joel fans rather than mike people - so that can be arranged. i'm kind of pleased there's just so much MST3K to catch up on - it'll be some time before i see most of them

did you ever see the "squish/ squidge" your head duel? that one was particularly wonderful

Watching either of those (and they'd make quite an interesting "double-feature") sounds great to me. And you and Sarah are allowed whatever fanaticisms you wish, as far as I'm concerned; I'm not prejudiceed. I've mostly seen episodes with Mike in them, but that's just because that's what's been on; to reiterate, I've only seen these shows on TV so I've been at the whim of whatever they happen to put on.

I think that duel was one of the first KitH skits I remember seeing; it made quite a good impression on me.

fair does - i'm at the whim of a woman who wanted to marry joel hodgson in her youth so obviously i get mainly the classic joel/ dr forrester/ tv's frank combination. bless 'em...
