Recently I was asked for story recs, but being a librarian, what I ended up doing was creating a list of places where I have found recs. I reproduce it here, and ask an important question:
Where do you go when you're looking for stories to read?
You answer may be a certain reader who tends to like and comment on the same sorts of stories you like, a rec site, or just a good tagset at LJ or bookmark set or favorites list elsewhere. Please feel free to pimp your own bookmarks or favorites or recs, too!
I've found some good fics via
http://iamshadow.livejournal.com/tag/sherlock%20holmes http://terra-lilly.livejournal.com/11574.html has a lot of classic stories as
well as some I didn't know before.
http://melannen.dreamwidth.org/288836.html this led me to some I didn't know
too.
http://221b-recs.livejournal.com/ is an lj rec comm for all 'verses. So far
I've been pretty happy with any story that piqued my interest there.
http://keyofx.org/fiction_sherlockholmes/all-stories/ I'm still working my way
through this, but there are lots of things I already know I like here.
http://allaire.skeeter63.org/favorites/FavHolmes.htm you might already know of.
And then there are the story hunting comms on LJ:
http://holmes-finders.livejournal.com/ has a nice tagging system, and has led me
to some good stories
http://sherlock-search.livejournal.com/ Specific to BBCTV 'verse.
