I blew right past the part of the intermission where Spades Slick/Jack Noir is disfigured by Snowman: she stabs her cigarette holder into one of his eyes, and uses her whip to yank off one of his arms. These are the same "wounds" inflicted on John's harlequin doll, and therefore the wearers of the 4x prototyped rings. Among the eventual wearers is Becnoir--another iteration of Jack Noir!
