Dave: Mourn the loss of Cal.
These panels seem to me to be drenched in visual symbolism. Dave has a thing with birds, particularly crows: he accidentally kills one, winds up prototyping it, and then has a splinter of himself become one with it. In these panels Dave is seen surrounded by the detritus of his recent battle with Bro, and a bunch of fucking crows.
The crows are also seen in the very end of Dave's last strife with Bro, pecking around behind him as he lays on the floor in his defeat.
Crows are usually symbolic of death, and this is somewhat of a death scene. Lil' Cal kinda died. But we all know he's not gone for good. Beyond that, this may be Dave's last interaction with Bro before his death (??? I can't remember if this is true).
I've heard theories from people that Dave is the most likely of the main characters to perma-die. If that's the case, we know the crows are foreshadowing. Until then, I shall continue to draw conclusions.
