Boys
BOYS! Summa-summa-time love, summa-summa-time love. Boys, boys, boys. What can I say, I started liking boys as soon as puberty hit. Unfortunately, I was part of a large group of boys that only liked girls. Then I fell in love with a singer who ( Read more... )

Situation in Brasil is that every male needs to enlist with the army when they turn 18. I was living in Hong Kong at the time and so had to go to the embassy there. I dealt with a guy who fucked up my paperwork (I only found this out later) and only last year, when trying to renew my passport, I found out I'd "lost" my citizenship. It's something that's easily fixed, but to do so I need to be a resident again in Brasil, get a lawyer to sort out the paperwork, etc. It's a royal pain in the noggins.

OMG. This is ridiculous. How long would you have to maintain residency in order to regain your birthright? Weird.

I know eh? Everyone I spoke to, from the embassy to lawyers, agrees that it's a stupid situation. It's really because of someone messing up my papers (who is now, by the way, in prison! he accepted a bribe to get someone off doing the military and was caught on a secret camera doing it) I need someone in Brasil to put my name on a bill so that it looks like I reside there, and the lawyer takes it from there. My brother was in the same situation but he's now all resolved and up to date, so I'm hoping it will be the same for me too.

Ah, that's right, you've mentioned some of this already...I thought it was sorted...so, uh, this means you are currently unable to be labeled an official 'Brasilian Guy'?

That's right. :-)

But hopefully it's just a temporary glitch in the system and services will resume shortly.
