Hi Dagmara!
It was a nice surprise to receive an email from you today, specially because I was planning on writing to you. Cosmic coincidence? You sound as if you are doing well, which is cool, and I`m glad you received my postcard. I know I had promised to give you a brief description of what`s going on in my life but I got so caught up with describing that day on the beach that the idea went away with the waves. So today I`ve come to Maida Vale`s library to fix that mistake and write you a proper email.
As Kevin told you, I`m back from Brasil and broke. I`ve half-assedly contacted my temp agency for work but nothing has come up. My money is slowly draining away so I spend most of the days at home, walking in Hyde Park or going for swims at the local gym. If I don`t get a job soon, I`m gonna need to borrow money from Kevin to pay the rent! But things are not as bad as I`m making them sound: I know a job is going to come up soon so I`m not too worried; I`ve signed up for a creative writing course every saturday morning which has turned out to have a great combination of people; I`ve been working on a horror novel which I started writing in November, and I have plans on visiting Canada very soon.
Kevin wants to find a flight to Canada around October, because prices will be down then and he`ll have finished his Master`s. I`m also hoping to have some money saved by then so I can come too and visit all of you. Where and what are you going to be doing around that time?
I saw a documentary recently on TV that made me think of you. It was about the new countries that have joined the EU and it followed people from those countries coming to the U.K. to work. Now that Polish citizens can work here, have you put any thought into coming over here for a year or two? I think that would be great! I even had a dream you were living with us...
A group of school children have just arrived at the library. They are sitting in the children`s section and a teacher is reading to them a story about a little monkey. I like coming to this library once in a while and picking up random books to read. I have a pile of them beside my bed at home and I`m slowly making my way through them.
Have you seen Ryan recently? Who else have you run into from the "olden" days? What have you been doing for fun in Montreal? I miss that city sometimes and Kevin & I always talk about how much fun it would be to move back and settle there. I hope Montreal is treating you well.
With nothing else to write (and my time on this computer running out), I end this email with a wet & sloppy kiss from me on your cheek. I look forward to receiving your postcard and hearing from you.
Love,
Ollie
