Greetings from sunny (rainy) Orlando.
Been down here for a trade show since Wednesday - don't get home until Saturday night. I love it when horribly boring trade shows steal my weekend from me. Lovely.
Despite this being one of the worst trade shows I've been to so far, it has been fun because my dad had business here in Orlando this week also, so we got to hang out. Last night we went over to Margharitaville on Citiwalk and had a few drinks. I got a Landshark t-shirt and a three dollar guitar pick (it was for charity).
I've discovered that it is an extremely difficult task to motivate me to do anything. Anything. I have this morning to myself to catch up on a few phone calls and send a couple emails...no, Sportscenter and Livejournal. I bought a book to read, but can't bring myself to read it because that would involve opening the book and reading it. Same reason why I've had a guitar so long and still don't understand music.
I blame Ridgeview. Ridgeview taught me that I could procastinate and/or avoid anything mildly productive and still find a way to succeed. I perfected this craft in college and now, in the real world, I have to fight myself EXTREMELY hard not to continue it. Although, I am very good at it. Some people are great athletes or speakers or chess players, I am a FANTASTIC procrastinator. The laughable irony of the whole situation is that people disdain my god-given talent, not offer it multi-million dollar contracts.
Need to see the movie "Funny People". It has the potential to be my favorite movie of all time. No pressure, Judd!
